Looking for Solar Powered…Everything?

1.9kW Grid-Tied Solar Electric System
Throughout the years, we’ve harnessed the sun’s energy and been able to turn it into electricity. Though it seems we’re stuck on that step, at least people are making advancements in what exactly the sun can power. You can visit dozens of sites online and find a plethora of items that are solar powered. The list is vast, and soon to be endless. Almost everything that runs off electricity can run off of solar power. All you need to do is convert the sun’s energy to electricity. Here are some of my top picks to buy solar powered items and solutions from:

  • Go Green Solar
  • Green and More
  • Solio
  • The technology extends from complete office buildings, homes and even some cars, to the smallest things on your person like an iPod. You can purchase an iPod solar charger for less than 30 dollars and never have to plug it into a wall socket again.

There are also products like solar powered anti-mosquito guards with LED lights, solar spark lighters: pocket sized solar lighter and survival tool, solar shower: heats up the water so you can take a shower outdoors; great for camping, solar powered alarm clocks, flashlights and rechargers, lanterns, and all sorts of other odds and ends.

Solar efficiency has come a long way in the sense of a convenient lifestyle. If you wanted to convert to solar energy completely, it wouldn’t take anything but a commitment to do so. There is nothing in your life that you couldn’t do now with the sun’s energy independently.

Even in a battery powered car, you could recharge the batteries using the sun’s energy. Water heaters, air conditioners, radios, televisions, you name it. Solar powered devices and accessories are available all over the place.

I think we’ll have to agree to disagree on this one.

I wish our alleged leadership in this country had begun to find alternative fuels many years ago instead of catering to those Middle Eastern Thieves. Perhaps solar power isn’t the complete answer, but it can be a part of the big picture. Along some of our highways here in Maryland, solar panels are up high on the overhead lights and does help somewhat.
